Inayati Sufi Study and Practice at Naropa University

From 3:30-4:30PM on the 1st Thursday of each month, a Sufi practice session of dhikr (remembrance) and other practices will be held in Sycamore 8130 on the Main Campus; and on the 3rd Thursday of each month, a Sufi sohbet (fellowship) and study gathering will be held in Sycamore 8130 on the Main Campus.

Details:

For Naropa students interested in the study and practice of Inayati Sufism, Pir Netanel Mu’in ad-Din Miles-Yépez will be leading separate practice and study sessions on campus throughout the semester. Pir Netanel is the head of the Inayati-Maimuni branch of Inayati Sufism, as well as a teacher in the Religious Studies Department at Naropa University. The Inayati lineage of Sufism is based in the four great lineages of traditional Sufism, but emphasizes the universalist teachings of Hazrat Inayat Khan (1882-1927), the first Sufi master to teach in the West. Practice sessions will include traditional Sufi dhikr (remembrance), meditation, contemplation, and prayer practices. Study sessions will focus on Sufi history, traditional Sufi concepts and spiritual guidance.
